The Arts Center is committed
to changing lives through art and serving the community. While there will be a variety of public programs that take place
onsite, the Ranch makes an effort to extend its reach beyond the borders campuses. The purpose of the Ranch outreach program
is to serve the local geographic community of artists and non-artists through accessible, sustained programming and area partnerships
structured to meet the needs using the visual arts.

Schools
The Arts Center will collaborate with local schools to assist in their visual arts
needs.
Artists-in-Schools
Through initial pilot funding a visual literacy program will
be designed to increase student achievement and critical-thinking skills in elementary school students through inquiry and
curriculum-based projects. The aim of this program is to impact students in elementary school through integrated arts education
that promotes critical thinking and literacy skills in relation to artworks, the process of art making, and targeted curriculum
areas. Through this multidisciplinary effort, students use valuable 21st century skills such as problem solving, synthesis,
hypothesis, risk taking, and innovation. Local artists act as teaching artists and collaborate with classroom teachers
as facilitators and designers of each project.
Portfolio Day
This
program will create an opportunity for local high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors thinking about applying to art school
to receive critical feedback on their portfolios from the Center¹s professional artistic staff.
Workshop Scholarships
The Art Center President's Scholarship
Two graduating high school seniors and two eighth grade students
from four schools will each receive a tuition scholarship to attend a summer workshop of their choice at the Arts Center. The
Center will also collaborates with other organizations to offer scholarships including:
Outreach
to Working Artists
The
Art Center will introduce children to working artists by inviting them into our artist studios and providing demonstrations
on the art making process. This exposure will provide a powerful learning experience and allows children to experience the
art world in an intimate way. We will also facilitate visits by school aged children to local artists¹ studios, not located
at the Center.
Community Collaborations
The Art Center will
work with a number of local organizations to help strengthen individual programs.
